Floods and landslides triggered by monsoon rains have claimed 10 lives in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Refugee Aid and Repatriation Commissioner Mizanur Rahman reported that camps 8, 9, 10, and 14 were submerged, with barracks buried under water and soil. Among the victims were 9 Rohingya Muslims and 1 Bangladeshi. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Cox’s Bazar, located about 300 kilometers southeast of Dhaka, is home to over 1 million Rohingya Muslims, most of whom fled military operations in Myanmar.
