Stunning footage of mountain goats navigating steep cliffs in the Munzur Mountains, between Erzincan and Tunceli, has captivated viewers. Cinematographer Muhammed Kösen and his team captured these rare creatures, which are protected due to their endangered status and listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
The goats, feeding on oak shoots and grass amidst fog-shrouded cliffs, occasionally descend to rivers for water. Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu shared the footage, calling the goats “the noble spirits of the mountains” and symbols of patience, courage, and freedom. Their presence underscores Erzincan’s rich wildlife and natural beauty.
