The death toll from floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar has climbed to 268, with 88 people still missing. Yagi, the strongest typhoon to hit Asia this year, has caused widespread devastation, damaging roads, bridges, homes, workplaces, and schools in regions including Naypyidaw, Kayah, Kayin, Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Shan, and Ayeyarwady. Myanmar’s State Administrative Council confirmed that financial support will be provided to the families of the victims, with further aid depending on the level of destruction in affected areas.
