NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg delivered a farewell speech marking the end of his tenure, highlighting the indispensable role of key allies in European security. Stoltenberg stressed that the security of Europe is unimaginable without the contributions of Türkiye in the south, Norway in the north, and the US, Canada, and the UK in the west. He emphasized NATO’s strength and unity, despite challenges such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, ISIS, cyberattacks, and climate change.
Regarding Türkiye and Greece, Stoltenberg acknowledged their vital contributions to NATO’s security, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in managing tensions between the two countries. He also highlighted NATO’s role in preventing military incidents in the Aegean Sea.
