Dashain, the longest-running festival in Nepal, started yesterday. City residents, who want to go on holiday for the 2-week festival, are leaving the capital. Terminals and roads were filled with passengers. Despite the fact that the number of people leaving the city for the holidays was three times larger in previous years prior to Covid-19, approximately one million people are expected to leave the city in the first nine days of the festival this year.
