Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed in a video message published yesterday that Hashim Safiyuddin, Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary General and Hassan Nasrallah’s successor, and the person who will take his duty were killed in Israel’s attack on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on October 3.
The Israeli leader called on the Lebanese people to wrest the country from Hezbollah, which he claims to be “weaker today than it has been in many years,” and return it to the path of “peace and prosperity.”
The name of the new deputy secretary general who was allegedly killed was not shared.
