Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The Israeli leader shared a video explaining the reasons behind the decision.
In the video, Netanyahu said that Gallant made decisions and statements that contradicted cabinet decisions and that the trust between him and Defense Minister Gallant had been broken in recent months. Stating that most members of the government agreed with him, Netanyahu said, “I have made many attempts to close these gaps, but the gaps have continued to widen.”
Gallant will be replaced by Foreign Minister Israel Katz. Israeli security cabinet minister Gideon Sa’ar will replace Katz as foreign minister.
