New Insect And Plant Species Found To Live In Türkiye Valley

Dozens of new plant and living species were detected to live in the 14-kilometer-long Ihlara Valley, the world’s second-largest canyon valley in Türkiye’ Aksaray province. According to studies, the valley, which is also known as a gateway to Cappadocia, hosts a total of 84 birds, 11 fish, 294 insects, 11 reptiles, and 179 seeded and 11 seedless plant species. The valley, which contains more than a hundred churches and thousands of caves as well, is visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year.

“There are 105 churches and 7,000 caves in Ihlara Valley, and new plants and new insects have been discovered. “This valley is a natural wonder,” said Bayram Ali Güngör, a local.
