Nine Israeli soldiers accused of torturing a Palestinian detainee during an investigation at the Sde Teiman detention facility three weeks ago were detained in Israel. The detained soldiers were suspected of “severely mistreating the detainee,”  Army Radio reported.

After news about the detentions spread, Israeli far-right protesters gathered in front of the Beit Lid Air Base in central Israel, where the nine soldiers were being interrogated, to demand their release. The protesters clashed with the soldiers and stormed the military base.
