An oil tanker named “Akkad” belonging to the Iraqi Oil Tankers Company crashed into Um Qasr Port in the southern Iraqi city of Basra yesterday.
It was reported that the Iraqi Ports General Company oil tanker experienced a rudder failure while leaving the Hur Zubayr Oil Port earlier in the day.
Authorities stated that there were no deaths or injuries in the accident, that the accident did not cause environmental pollution and that operations at the port were continuing normally.
