The grave of Martyr Petty Officer Senior Sergeant Ömer Halisdemir in Niğde, Türkiye, who shot coup plotter General Semih Terzi during the July 15 FETO coup attempt, continues to receive numerous visitors. Tuncay Demir from Istanbul, who named his son Ömer Halis after the hero, emphasized the importance of keeping Halisdemir’s legacy alive. Nedim Özkaraaslan from Kocaeli, en route to Gaziantep, brought his children to pay respects and pray at Halisdemir’s grave, highlighting the ongoing reverence for the martyr who significantly altered the course of the coup attempt.
