A landslide in Ketchikan, Alaska, left one person dead and three others injured. The incident, which occurred around 4:00 PM local time, also caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure. The injured were transported to a hospital for treatment. In response, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy declared a state of emergency for the affected area. Evacuations were carried out in risky zones, and a local high school was converted into a temporary evacuation center. Power, internet, and phone services, initially disrupted by the landslide, were largely restored by nightfall.
