A gunfight broke out in the Mexican city of Orizaba, in the state of Veracruz, officials said. The bandits set fire to a gas station and a truck, prompting a series of clashes between security forces and the attackers, the officials added. Schools and shopping malls in the city were evacuated.

Mexican army and police teams carried out an operation where they killed 1 attacker. Two others were wounded after the clashes, which lasted more than 2 hours, according to officials.
