Orangutan holds man hostage after he breaks rules at Indonesian zoo

At the Kasang Kulim Zoo in Indonesia’s Riau province, an interesting incident occurred between a visitor and an orangutan. Hasan Arifin was caught by the orangutan Tina after jumping over the railing to approach the cage where she was kept. The orangutan was seen grabbing Arifin’s legs and lifting him up in videos shared on social media. The people in the area tried to calm the orangutan, who was trying to drag Arifin into the cage. With the help of visitors and attendants, Arifin was able to flee the orangutan’s hands.

Making a statement on the subject after the incident on Monday, the zoo manager Desrizal said, “The visitor jumped over the railing on Monday and went near the orangutan’s cage to shoot video without the permission of the officials. “The visitor, who broke the rules and jumped over the railing, kicked the orangutan.”

Arifin apologized with the video he shared on his social media account. Stating that he is sorry for what happened, Arifin said, “I apologize to Kasang Kulim Zoo because I jumped from the zoo guardrails. Also, I apologize for my content, I didn’t mean to do such a bad thing.”
