An otter, which is classified as ‘near extinction’ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, was spotted stealing fish from a boat on a pond near the Tigris River in Türkiye’s Diyarbakır province.
“I run a tea garden on the banks of the Tigris River. I have been catching fish in the Tigris River for years. We have a fish pond. These otters come to eat the fish in the pond. They constantly eat our fish,” said Ferat Karagöz, a fisher.
