over 1400 dolphins slaughtered in faroe islands

During the annual Grindadrap Festival in Denmark’s Faroe Islands, 1,428 whales and dolphins were killed this year. The number of whales and dolphins killed this year is estimated to be the highest recorded since the tradition began in the 1500s. Fishermen mostly hunt pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins and white-sided dolphins to continue the tradition.
