Pakistan-Afghanistan border clash kills at least 6

Six people were killed and 17 were injured after Afghan Border Forces “opened fire without reason and indiscriminately” in the city of Chaman on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to Pakistani officials. According to Abdullah Ali Kasi, a police officer in Chaman, the shooting started after Afghanistan fired mortar shells on Pakistani territory.

Balochistan Prime Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed his concern about the incident, saying, “I hope the federal government provides an urgent and effective diplomatic solution to this problem.”

The border gate in Chaman was closed to crossings indefinitely after 1 Pakistani soldier was killed and 2 soldiers were injured as a result of fire opened by Afghanistan last month, whereas 5 Afghan soldiers were killed in retaliation.

Students Block Serbian State TV in Ongoing Protests

0

Student-led protesters in Serbia have blockaded state broadcasters RTS and RTV, demanding management overhaul or complete shutdown due to alleged biased reporting. Tents were set up outside buildings in Belgrade and Novi Sad, blocking entry and disrupting broadcasts. RTS called the blockade illegal, while RTV’s head labeled it “terrorism.”

The protests follow a deadly building collapse in Novi Sad that killed 15 people in November 2024. Despite government reshuffles and resignations, demonstrations persist. President Aleksandar Vucic dismissed the unrest as a failed “color revolution.”
