The draft resolution regarding Palestine’s UN membership, voted yesterday at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, was accepted with 143 “yes” votes against 9 “no” votes. With the accepted bill, Palestine, which is currently only an observer, was granted additional rights and privileges in addition to membership, and was given the right to take place among member states and support proposals.
A call was made to the UN Security Council and for Palestine’s full membership request, which was rejected by the USA’s negative vote last month, to be re-evaluated.
