A small educational tent where 400 children study in groups was set up by Palestinian teacher Israa Abu Mustafa on the rubble of her home in the city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, where education has come to a complete halt due to Israeli attacks.
“I set up the educational tent on the rubble of my family’s five-story house, which was destroyed by Israeli warplanes. I was working as a teacher in a kindergarten, but the Israeli army destroyed it too,” Abu Mustafa said, adding that she was still eager to continue teaching.
Due to Israeli attacks, 123 schools and universities in the Gaza Strip were completely destroyed, and 335 schools were partially damaged, depriving approximately 785,000 students of education.
