Karim Younis, the longest-serving Palestinian prisoner in Israel, has been released after 40 years. Younis, 66 years old, was sentenced to death for the murder of Israeli soldier Avraham Bromberg. He was arrested in 1983, and the verdict was later changed to a 40-year prison term.
“We are ready to offer another 40 years for the freedom of our people,” he said after being released.
