The pension reform in France continues to draw reactions, as protests against the retirement age increase persist. The capital city of Paris has been dealing with the aftermath of a strike organized by cleaning workers, leading to the accumulation of garbage on the pavements. With the streets filled with trash, the French public has been forced to use vehicle roads to move around.
The smell from the garbage heaps was so overpowering that many individuals resorted to wearing masks. Officials have reported that 6,600 tons of garbage have accumulated on half of the capital’s streets due to the cleaners’ strike, raising fears of potential rat infestations. The cleaners have confirmed that their strike will continue until Monday, March 20.
