Dozens of passengers jumped off a train near the Paranda Railway Station in the Jalgaon district of the Indian state of Maharashtra out of panic after the train’s emergency brakes were pulled and got rammed by another train coming from the opposite direction. Thirteen people were reportedly killed, while 10 others were injured.
According to authorities, a rumour of fire spread among the passengers after the emergency brakes were pulled.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
