People in Lviv draws map of Ukraine with 515 oil lamps

In Lviv, on the border with Poland, people gathered in front of the huge monument to the famous artist Taras Shevchenko in the city center for an event. In the action planned by a teacher at the Novakivsky art school in the city, the borders of the country were drawn with oil lamps, based on the yellow and blue colors of the Ukrainian flag. A total of 515 oil lamps, 318 yellow and 297 blue, were used for event. Dozens of red oil lamps were lit on the monument to symbolize the spilled blood. The ritual, in which prayers were made for the soldiers who died heroically while defending their homeland, ended with the singing of hymns and the lighting of lamps for peace and freedom.
