The house of Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, who took office in 2022, was raided as part of a preliminary investigation launched on the grounds that she did not declare her numerous luxury watches among her assets. The police broke the door of the house with a battering ram and searched the house while the president was not home.
In response to the suspicion towards her assets, Boluarte claimed she bought the watches with her own money earned by working since the age of 18 and added, “I entered the palace with clean hands, and I will leave with clean hands.”
