The death toll from floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in the Philippines has risen to 44, with 28 people still missing, according to the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRMC). Over 50,000 people were reported to have fled their homes as villages, towns, and roads were submerged.
The flood’s damage to infrastructure and agricultural land is estimated at 1.36 billion pesos ($24.4 million).
