Protests against police violence and racism were held in many cities, especially in Paris, the capital of France. Demonstrators marching for 17-year-old Nahel M., who died as a result of police fire in Nanterre on June 27, chanted slogans such as “Police are everywhere, but justice is nowhere.”
In the protest that started peacefully at the Gare du Nord Train Station in Paris, dozens of demonstrators wearing black hoodies and with their faces covered broke the windows of bank branches and ATMs and threw stones at a police car that tried to stop them.
