The Pomegranate Festival, held at the EU and Fire Park in Tehran, the capital of Iran, attracted great attention. Juices, pastes, fruit pulps, soups, syrups, ice creams, jams and marmalades that are made using pomegranate were displayed and sold at the festival. Pomegranate mascots’ accompanying and local dance shows offered enjoyable moments to the visitors.
“We have pomegranate gardens in the city of Save and all the pomegranates here are from our own gardens. The pomegranates of Save city are different from other cities because the seeds of our pomegranates are oilier, and their peels are thinner and more juicy. That’s why it is more preferred,” said Ali Rıza Cemşidipur, a seller at the festival.
“We are making pomegranate soup and yogurt soup. Pomegranate soup is indigenous to the city of Shiraz and it contains bulgur, wheat, rice, chickpeas, pomegranate juice, and pomegranate paste. Its taste is very delicious,” said Poya Kazemiyan, another seller.
