The death toll from the Gloria Funicular accident in Lisbon has climbed to 16 after one of the injured died overnight, hospital officials confirmed. Another 22 people remain hospitalized, some in serious condition.
Authorities have not released the identities or nationalities of the victims, though local media reported foreign nationals were among the dead. Lisbon’s mayor has declared three days of mourning following the tragedy.
