A “silent march” protest was held today after the violent protests that started on Tuesday against the incident in which a police officer killed 17-year-old Nahel M. in the suburb of Nanterre, the capital of France, Paris. About six thousand people gathered in Paris, walking with banners that read “Police are everywhere; where is justice?” and chanting slogans. Some organized a convoy with their vehicles and honked at the police.
Nahel M. was shot to death by a police officer after not complying with the stop warning. The officer was detained and dismissed.
