The case regarding the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination between Armenia and Azerbaijan started today at the International Court of Justice at the Peace Palace in the Hague, the capital of the Netherlands.

In the first session of the public hearings, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammedov stated that Armenia illegally occupied Azerbaijani lands between 1991-1994, did not fulfill the obligations it assumed after the Second Karabakh War, and launched a smear campaign against Armenian soldiers, arguing that they abused their duties.

The hearings held at the Peace Palace in The Hague will continue until April 19.

At least 7 people were killed and 13 injured after powerful tornadoes struck central and southern parts of the United States. Five fatalities occurred in Tennessee, with others reported in Indiana and Missouri.

More than 30 tornadoes were recorded across six states—Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee—within 24 hours. The storms caused widespread destruction, downing power lines and trees, overturning vehicles and train cars, and damaging homes, a church, and a warehouse.

As of Thursday evening, over 150,000 homes and businesses were without electricity, with Michigan and Indiana experiencing the most outages.
