Putin Has to Make Concessions to End the War: Trump

US President Donald Trump urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate peace with Ukraine, stating that “Putin will have to make concessions to end the war.”

Before his first cabinet meeting, Trump announced a strategic minerals agreement with Ukraine, which he claimed would boost US economic interests and serve as a security shield. He also confirmed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s upcoming visit.

Trump criticized NATO, suggested reclaiming Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan to counter China, and reiterated his controversial remark that Canada should become the 51st US state, referring to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “Governor Trudeau.”

On the economy, Trump proposed a 25% tariff on the EU, accusing it of undermining the US. Elon Musk, attending the meeting as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), warned of a looming financial crisis, claiming the US is “on the verge of bankruptcy.”

Trump also introduced a “Gold Card” program for skilled immigrants, offering a fast-track to citizenship for those who invest and create jobs in the US.
