Russian President Vladimir Putin received a formal welcome from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi. He later visited the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial and held talks with Modi.
Modi called the visit “historic,” marking 25 years since Putin’s first trip that launched the countries’ strategic partnership. He said India supports efforts for peace in Ukraine and expects the talks to boost economic ties.
Putin thanked Modi for his diplomatic efforts and highlighted growing cooperation in high tech, aviation, space, and defense.
