Heavy rains and floods that hit the Kanto region, including Tokyo, following Typhoon Shanshan in Japan have brought life to a standstill. At least 112,000 people were warned to evacuate in Chiba Prefecture.
Authorities warned that heavy rains would continue in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Yamanashi, Nagano and Niigata prefectures until tomorrow and called for caution against landslides and flash floods.
Floods and landslides in Japan last week killed 8 people and injured at least 129 people.
