As Ramadan approaches, date sales have increased in Bursa’s markets, with 15 varieties available at prices ranging from 200 to 400 liras per kilo. Shoppers crowded the bazaars, stocking up for iftar and sahur meals.

Local vendor Orhan Çağlayan advised buyers to purchase dates from reputable stalls rather than temporary vendors. He highlighted the differences between Jerusalem and Medina dates, with Jerusalem dates being larger and visually appealing, while Medina dates are valued for their health benefits. Prices vary based on size and quality, with Medina dates costing more due to transport expenses. Vendors expect demand to peak in the final days of Ramadan.
