Following the arrival of spring in Tunceli, Türkiye, inverted tulips, one of the rarest plant species in the world, bloomed once again on the summit of the mountains. Also known as “crying brides” or “flowers of sadness”, inverted tulips bloom only between 15 and 20 days a year and are very popular with nature lovers. Due to its rarity, people who damage the plants are fined 244 thousand 315 TL for the crime of destroying biological diversity.
“We had a very nice trip today with our friends. As the snow melted, inverted tulips began to bloom. We want people to come and see these beauties, but please do not come with large groups,” said Loran Polat.
