A lingering snowstorm that began on Sunday has brought record snowfall in Shenyang, the capital city of northeast China’s Liaoning Province, since 1905, according to the local meteorological authority. The average snowfall in the city was 51 mm.

Meteorological authorities in several provinces in north and northeast China have issued blizzard warnings, as sweeping snowstorms have disrupted road and air traffic since last weekend.
