During the march that former Pakistani PM Imran Khan staged in the Sadhoke city of the Pencap state, a Channel Five reporter, Sadaf Naeem was crushed by the truck that Khan was being carried amongst a convoy. The incident occurred as the reporter fell onto the road from a container while she was following the convoy. Khan conveyed his condolences to the reporter’s family and said that the protest will be halted as they arrive at Kamoke in the Gujranwala Division.
PM Shahbaz Sharif expressed his sadness over the death of Naeem, whom he described as a “dynamic and hardworking reporter” and conveyed his condolences to her family.
Khan and his supporters set off for the capital Islamabad on October 28 from Lahore, calling for early elections. The convoy was expected to reach Islamabad on November 4 and a sit-in protest will be staged.
