Heavy rain and floodings that took place yesterday at noon destroyed many houses and cars in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu, Turkey. After the disaster people stranded in the house and waited all night to be rescued. A woman survived by climbing out of a school window. Elderly people were rescued by fire ladders and taken to safe areas. Rescue efforts, which have lasted for about 24 hours, continue by air and land.

The death toll from the July 4 floods in Texas, USA, has climbed to 131, with 97 people still missing. Governor Greg Abbott said most fatalities occurred in Kerrville, particularly at Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp. Search efforts continue in the Guadalupe River area.
