A kangaroo escaping from a fox was stranded in the flood waters that were caused by heavy rains in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. A search and rescue team, which was in the region to save flood victims, noticed the kangaroo. The team pulled the kangaroo to the boat and saved her.
It is estimated that there are 11 million kangaroos in the state.
Miguel Uribe, a 39-year-old Colombian senator and former presidential candidate, has died after being shot in a rally in Bogotá on July 7. The assassination attempt, carried out by a 15-year-old gunman, left Uribe critically injured with two gunshot wounds to the head and one to the leg. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries, Uribe succumbed to complications. His wife, Mara Claudia Tarazona, confirmed his death and thanked him for being a loving father. The 15-year-old suspect, arrested at the scene, denies the charges, and an investigation is ongoing into possible accomplices.
