Restored Sections of Topkapı Palace Harem Now Open to Tourists

In Istanbul, Topkapı Palace’s Harem has unveiled newly restored sections, including the Concubines’ Stone House, Bath, and Kuşhane Kitchen, to local and international visitors. The recently completed restorations were captured via drone footage, showcasing the impressive work done on these historic areas.

Ilhan Kocaman, Head of National Palaces Topkapı Palace Department, highlighted the swift introduction of these restored areas to the public, emphasizing the importance of sharing the palace’s rich heritage. The Concubines’ Stone House, dating back to the mid-16th century, includes a Turkish bath, laundry, and pantry, reflecting the daily life within the Ottoman Harem. This smallest courtyard in the Harem also features dormitories for concubines, now accessible for the first time with their new display layout.
