A total of 300 soldiers, 150 from each side, returned to their countries in a new prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine, brokered by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yesterday.
“They are all from different parts of the front. Some of them had been held captive for more than two years,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the arrival of the soldiers.
“As a result of the negotiation process, 150 Russian soldiers were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. Currently, all Russian soldiers are in Belarus, are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance and are being given the opportunity to contact their relatives. All released soldiers will be brought to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions affiliated with the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
