Russia Issues Tsunami Alert After Biggest Quake Since 1952

 

An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, triggering a tsunami warning across the Pacific coast. Officials reported over 50 aftershocks and minor building damage. No casualties were recorded. Tsunami waves reached up to 4 meters, flooding parts of Severo-Kurilsk port. Authorities evacuated 2,700 residents, and emergency measures remain in place.
