Russia Jails British National Over Ukraine Fighting

A court in Russian-annexed Donetsk sentenced British citizen Hayden Davies to 13 years in a high-security prison camp for fighting as a mercenary for Ukraine. Russian prosecutors said Davies was captured last year with a US-made assault rifle and admitted joining Ukraine’s International Legion after entering via Poland, earning $400–500 a month. In court footage released by Russian authorities, the 30-year-old said he accepted the charges. British media noted Davies previously served in the British army, while another UK national was jailed in Russia earlier this year on similar charges.
