Russia held a major military parade in Moscow’s Red Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany. The event, led by President Vladimir Putin, drew 29 foreign leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

More than 11,500 soldiers took part, including over 1,500 veterans of the Ukraine war. Soldiers from 13 other countries also joined the parade. New Russian drones, such as Lancet-52 and Geran, were displayed publicly for the first time.

Putin praised the wartime unity of the Soviet republics and vowed to preserve the legacy of WWII. “Russia will continue to stand against Nazism, Russophobia, and anti-Semitism,” he said. The ceremony concluded with a tribute to fallen soldiers and a minute of silence.
