A Kalibr cruise missile launched from a Russian submarine in the Sea of Japan successfully hit a target 1,000 kilometers away during a drill in the Khabarovsk region of eastern Russia. Statement by Russian Ministry of Defense, undisclosed number of its Pacific Fleet ships, jets and drones also involved the drill.
Russia’s Kalibr missiles, which target Ukraine from ships and submarines in the Black Sea, are known as the country’s long-range cruise missiles. Kalibr missiles with turbo engines are used to hit both land and sea targets with their high ranges.
