Sagalassos and Kibyra Ancient Cities Pictured under Perseid Meteor Shower

The Perseid meteor shower, which occurs every year in August, was viewed from the ancient cities of Sagalassos and Kibyra in Burdur. The ruins, which include magnificent structures from history such as the Antonine Fountain, the Heroon and the Claudius Gate, offered a magnificent view with an average of 60 to 70 meteors falling on them every hour.

The Perseid meteor showers, observed every August, occur as a result of particles left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle entering the Earth’s atmosphere.
