The 17th International Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival was held with the theme of “A Space Adventure” this year in Antalya city, Turkey. In the festival, the sculptures were completed within the framework of the theme and the doors were opened to visitors. The festival that visited by many local and foreign visitors every year, held on an area of 7,000 square meters at Lara Public Beach in the city. At the festival, the subject was the process followed from the beginning of humanity’s adventure on the way to space. The statue of Leonardo Da Vinci, who made the first space drawings, and sculptures of Galileo, Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, US Astronaut Neil Armstrong, Wright Brothers and Montgolfier Brothers were displayed in the festival. In addition to that, important scenes of various space movies were shown with sculptures. The most important scenes of the unforgettable space movies Star Trek, Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy were also shown with sculptures. Approximately 10,000 metric tons of sand was used in a 7,000 square meters wide area.
