The wall paintings and ancient ruins found in the ancient tombs discovered in the Saqqara complex, located 30 kilometers south of the city of Cairo and on the west bank of the Nile River in Egypt, still preserve their bright colors although their more than 4,000 years age. The paintings and reliefs vividly depicts how the ancient Egyptians cultivated their farmland, fished and sailed on the Nile. Some cemeteries also contain carved paintings that record important historical events and provide Egyptologists with crucial references to better understanding of the ancient civilization.
