Over 100,000 people gathered in Belgrade, Serbia, to protest President Aleksandar Vucic and the government following the November 1 collapse of a train station roof in Novi Sad, which killed 15 people. The demonstration, the largest in recent history, included students and farmers’ unions.
Protesters observed a 15-minute silence for the victims before chanting “Thief Vucic” and displaying banners like “We are all under the porch” and “You have blood on your hands.” Calls for the resignation of Vucic and Novi Sad’s mayor echoed throughout Slavija Square.
