At the foot of Gabar Mountain in Türkiye’s Şırnak province, Şerefiye Waterfall has become a popular summer escape with its cool air and natural beauty. Visitors hike three kilometers through Bertür Valley to reach the site, which now attracts 150 vehicles daily.
Kayaboyun Village Headman Hakan Vural urged visitors not to pollute the area and said projects for road access and landscaping have been submitted to the governorate. Locals hope the site will boost eco-tourism, showing Şırnak as a place known not only for oil but also for natural treasures.
